How can I make a strong concrete mix while still reusing other materials?

I need a strong concrete mix to build a 2 story cement block structure. There are old concrete blocks on the property. Can I crush them and use the crush in a new mix or am I just making the whole mix less strong. I want to reuse existing materials to be green, but I dont want to make a bad mix.

Answer:
if you are laying blocks , are you going to grout them with your concrete mix...i wouldnt use a mix like that for the floor but you could use the broken blocks for aggregate in the grouting of the blocks , but you would need to break them up very small to be any good...gravel is cheap ...sell the old blocks
